Scope of Internship in india

                          Scope of Internship in India

India is vast country. Every year Lakhs of students take admission to engineering and management colleges. And every student who passed out from the engineering and management colleges need the job right after completing the degree. Most of them lack industrial experience and English proficiency, so remain unemployed.

AICTE(All India Council for Technical Education) released a report last year that 60% of all graduates passed out from engineering and technical education remain unemployed. This is a potential loss of 20 lakh man-days annually. This unemployment shows the whole scene of the unsuccessful education system of India and unfulfillment of industrial experience required from interns for companies.

Indian government and education system started recognizing something is not good at in our system and have to fix before it turns into a big problem. To buck this trend, the ministry of human resource development is planning a major revamp of India's technical education. So, government of India takes some actions like 'The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under MHRD, which has also set broad targets for raising the standards of technical education, which includes immediate improvement of employability to 60% from the current 40%, and to ensure that 75% of the students get industry exposure in the form of summer internships'.

According to report,
Less than 1% of engineering students participate in summer internships.
The reason being that most of them don't know actual importance of doing an internship and they don't get awareness from either college or media source.

The unemployment in India is decreased if students get a summer internship and industrial experience from the company. An internship adds a great value to their resume by showing their willingness to learn and work in a professional environment. The letter of accomplishment is a sign that you can adapt yourself to a much more rigorous schedule than your college.

In India, few students get summer internship from some good companies. Because companies demand more efficiency and interest from the interns other than giving training. These students have to approach. And their interested companies and apply separately for them. The application must have a detailed, effective and eye-catching Resume.

The world of internships and interns in India is by no means tiny. It is mildly disturbing, then, that there are absolutely no laws that cover interns and it's awareness in India. And the main problem is that graduates understand the real importance of internship after completing their degree and having no job. An intern can never be sure if s/he will receive useful training, or even get to do meaningful work. There is an only small sector which offered an internship in each area in India. big notch companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon take very few students. Many of dreamers can't get their dream internships.

The acquisition of most internships, unlike most jobs, is quite informal. All available internships aren’t properly advertised in  India. It is hard to get internship according to future career planning as few sectors are open for interns. Most of them get regret by taking other area field work of internship.

In today’s world of cut-throat competition, internships are more necessary than ever, not only for courses that make internships mandatory but for all students, to stay ahead of the game. And it's hard to get some real internship in India in core studies which is really required.

This type of internship is to expand an intern's knowledge both in their school studies and also at the company. The intern is expected to bring ideas and knowledge from school into the company. Trough platforms available in India like DAAD, Google summer of code which provides a good internship and great career opportunity. Internship guides like intershala, career indeed also gives good opportunities and acknowledgment of variant sectors of an internship. Some 40,000 employees now use Internshala, which offers more than four lakh internships every year. It is an attraction for new interns who planning for internship freshly.

The government announced that "Every student in technical institute should undergo three internships each spanning four to eight weeks before completion of his/her under-graduation course. The responsibility will be on the institute to help students find a suitable industry for the internship." This would help to get an internship and then job afterward, which leads to the decreased unemployment rate.

In India, interns have less policy during their work period. They don't have much rules and regulation in favor of interns. It appears as if interns do not have much of a case when it comes to protection against harassment, and most interns would be afraid to stand up for themselves for fear of ruining their career by throwing away an internship they worked so hard to get. Add to that a lost court case, and it really is a lose-lose situation for the intern.

In today’s world of cut-throat competition, internships are more necessary than ever: not only for courses that make internships mandatory but for all students, to stay ahead of the game. So, try applying for the internship which of great interest and hope for worst, but never take down any opportunity.
